Hello! My name is Christa Daszko. I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2001. In that time, giving and receiving massage has helped me become a marathoner, triathlete, and anatomy instructor. Massage has been a multi-fold path for me, furthering my vocational, physical, and spiritual evolutions. I live and breathe this stuff. Health, fitness, and nutrition are all interests I am quite passionate about.
I am a proud graduate and former faculty member of the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School here in Austin. My bodywork borrows techniques from many places: Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, Shiatsu (Japanese Bodywork), Myofascial Release, Zero Balancing, Structural Bodywork, Somatic Education, and Startle Reflex Conditioning. I plan to expand my practice this year by training in Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Hakomi Body-Centered Psychotherapy.
My motivation is simple: to get you out of pain so that you can go on with the business of living a life that you love! I do that by working to achieve a combination of depth and relaxation. I use a principle I call ‘applied laziness’. If I try to push my way into your muscles, your muscles will push back, a waste of time for both of us. If I use less effort and go in slowly– applied laziness – your muscles relax slowly while I preserve my energy. Afterward, you can pursue your dreams, free from chronic discomfort.
Namaste - ‘You and I have a place within us in which the entire universe resides. When I am in that place within me, and you are in that place within you, we are one.’ So, I say to you, Namaste.
